First Mission: A Question of Time/The Quest

Gamemaster, USS Kitty Hawk Roleplaying Campaign
Introduction
The USS Kitty Hawk campaign began as a roleplaying game on the Stargame list in December, 1993. It was a Star Trek-inspired campaign set during the nebulous era between the end of the original series and the first motion picture.
This allowed the players, a strong mixture wily veterans and newbies, a great deal of freedom to develop their characters by drawing on both canon and non-canon sources.
They and their first-timer gamemaster created a memorable first adventure that became known by the dual storyline titles of "The Quest" and "A Question of Time."
The electronic mail posts that made up this adventure are now being compiled into a narrative. After this preface and the opening chapters are presented, subsequent chapters will be submitted as they are compiled.
Your guide through this adventure is Lieutenant Carter Wilson, Ship's Historian of the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. (For those who recognize the name, he was Yeoman on the U.S.S. Xerxes during the Four Years War, but that's another story.)
